Geographical Situation

Finca Alamo is located in the high mountains of Chiapas. They border with The Biosphere Reserve El Triunfo, which is the most diverse evergreen forest in Mexico, and one of the most important sites for bird migration. It’s full of endemic plants, and also number of threatened mammalian species can be found in the reserve, such as Geoffroy’s spider monkey, margay, jaguar and puma.

Alamo is a tree that grows in the coffee regions of Chiapas as a native species. It’s used to cultivate shade-grown coffee in the Pohlenz family plantations. The production areas are located over 1,100masl. We have selected a specific area of the farm were the shade trees, the climate and the water supply combined create the perfect microclimate to produce this outstanding coffee.

The Custepec valley, where the farm is located, experiences moderate rains and fewer risks due to hurricane impact compared to the El Soconusco region, where a different coffee cluster is located.
